Alexis is a painter, photographer and makes assemblages! Curious? Ask Alexis!
Since arriving in Akumal, she has been gathering "trash" from the are and working with it---from shoes to tiles to plastic lids. She has also been creating/editing a video with a CEA volunteer for the environment and will be painting a giant papier mache tortuga for the Akumal Festival de la tortuga with fellow artist Michael Olivo. Phew!
Alexis has a passion to explore and experience a wide range of modalities and forms of expression, and is interested in the ways that photography, design, assemblages, and writing can work together and inform and influence one another.
And here's some pictures from her work with the children of the pueblo!
