showed their work after their time here in Akumal. People engaged with the artists and the artists shared their work and themselves with the community. We were also joined by local Mayan dancers to open and close the energies of the universe using the cardinal points in support of this auspicious beginning to the residency. We were grateful for their contribution.
These first artists have made for a warm and wonderful beginning to the artist residency. I am grateful to them, their spirits and the work they shared. I am also grateful to Magda Buscek for the poster design, to Paul, Alma and all the CEA staff for their assistance in making the exhibit possible, to Scott Brown for his help with video and lighting, to Ken and Tequilaville Restaurant for the dangerous and delicious margaritas, to all the locals who donated lamps, flashlights, extension cords, torches, time and anything else we needed.
And I am grateful to you! Thanks for reading this blog. Please join us as we welcome new international artists for the second session of the Akumal International Artist Residency. Events starting soon!
